Dear PSCT Members,
I would like to thank the 58 golfers and numerous business sponsors who attended and supported the September Golf Outing. A large thank you goes out to Sam Puglisi and Jim Wasik for doing a great job at organizing the golfing event.
The Golf Outing is the major fundraiser for the Hiram P. Ball Memorial Scholarship Fund. In addition to the Scholarship Fund, a special grant of $500 will be offered to one student that is enrolled in the Science, Technology, Math or Engineering field that meets the criteria. The scholarship and grant information will be provided in an upcoming newsletter. If you are interested in participating in the Scholarship Committee please contact Julie Glover at jglover@kta.com.
At the September meeting, Terry Wolfe of V&S Galvanizing gave a presentation on Corrosion Protection with Zinc. Terry discussed the benefits of hot dip galvanizing as a means to protect against corrosion of steel. Anyone who attended the September meeting and would like their certificate for one continuing education unit (CEU) can pick it up at the next member meeting.
Our next meeting is October 13th and George Urban of Cal Tec Labs, Inc. will be giving a presentation on Instrument Calibration. The October meeting will be held at Domenico’s in Cranberry Twp, 20550 RT 19N (Piazzo Plaza). I look forward to seeing you there.
