President’s Message-February 2019

Dear PSCT Members,

I would like to thank Michael Jeffries of Covestro for taking time out of his schedule to come and speak to all of us about isocyanate technologies. The various types of chemistries that can provide the unique functionalities that are necessary in different types of coatings was something completely new to me. I hope everyone who came out in January found this presentation beneficial and informative.
I am proud to announce we have filled all spots on the Scholarship Committee for this year’s Hiram P. Ball Memorial Scholarship and STEM Grant. The committee will be once again led by Karen Hollertz. Thank you for donating your time for such a great cause. Also, if you have a student that qualifies for the scholarship this year, we urge you to check out the application attached to the end of this newsletter or on our website at paintsociety.org. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 15th.
I am also happy to announce that in honor of President’s Day in February that we will be taking the time to honor Past President’s of the Society. If you have served in the office of PSCT President, we will be offering the dinner and presentation at the Retiree price of $15. We will also be recognizing those who attend before dinner.
Lastly, come and join us at Roland’s Seafood Grill in the Strip District on Monday, February 11th. This month’s speaker is Tony Moy of BASF. Tony will be discussing dispersing agents.

Chris Gehly
PSCT President 2018-2019
