Dear PSCT Members,
I would like to thank Tony Moy of BASF for taking time out of
his schedule to come and speak to all of us about dispersant
technologies. Dispersant chemistry is something that was relatable regardless of the type of coatings each of us are involved.
The data shared showing the benefits of choosing the correct
chemistry and concentration was educational. I also heard many
comments stating how much this talk was enjoyed regardless of
the formulation experience of the individual. Tony’s presentation
has been uploaded to the website for reference.
I would like to remind the group that if you have a student that
qualifies for the scholarship, please ensure that the applications
are turned in by the Friday, March 15th deadline. The application
can be found at the end of this newsletter or on our website at
paintsociety.org.
I am excited to announce that the spring social event will be held
at LumberJaxes Axe Throwing Pittsburgh in Millvale on Monday,
May 6th at 6pm. Please join us as we learn how to throw axes
and compete in a single elimination tournament. Pizza, beer,
wine, and soft drinks will be provided. More information will be
included in the newsletter and the website.
Lastly, come and join us at Roland’s Seafood Grill in the Strip
District on Monday, March 11th. This month’s speaker is Jerry
Powers of Chromaflo Technologies. Jerry will be discussing Low
VOC Colorants.
